How do I add line breaks and section breaks?

Separate your text by using section breaks and line breaks.

There is more than one way to add line breaks and section breaks in our software, but let us first take a look at what they do:

Line breaks and section breaks separate texts. Surprise, right?

When you write text in a sentence and continue to write the following text in the sentence below there will only be added a single space between the two sentences in the final text. This makes it possible for you to write a coherent text even though the sentences are divided in the editor.

If you want to separate sentences or text blocks you have to add line breaks or section breaks.

  • Line breaks
When you add a line break the next sentence will jump to a separate line just below the previous sentence. This is the same as clicking ENTER when editing text in e.g. Word. In terms of HTML code, the software adds a standard break-tag, when using a line break.
  • Section breaks
When you add a section break the next sentence will also jump to a separate line, but in this case, there will be two lines between the previous one. It will appear as a new section in the final text. It is the same as clicking ENTER twice when editing text in e.g. Word. In terms of HTML code, the software adds two standard break-tags, when using a section break.

You can add section breaks or line breaks anywhere in your template between sentences. There can be added numerous in a row if you need more space between text blocks or sentences.

Add line breaks and section breaks

Place the cursor on any existing sentence and click on the "+"-icon on the right side. A menu will appear where you can choose between adding a new sentence, line break, or section break.

Here you can choose between a line break or a section break. Regardless of your choice, you will have the option to add the break above or below the sentence you have clicked on.

The break will appear above or below the sentence at the same moment as you click on the button. Make sure to press "Done" at the bottom of the editor and go to the preview to see the result of the added break in the final text. Sometimes it is easier to see in the preview whether it looks better in the final text with a line break or a section break.

Other places to add breaks

  • Any existing line break or section break. Here you will also find the "+"-icon and the process of adding a break is the same as above.
  • On the "+ Sentence"-button at the bottom of your template you can also add line breaks or section breaks. Just click on the little arrow and the options will appear.
