Expand your text by converting scenarios into sentences in your template.
Content
Converting scenarios is one of the key features when building your template. The feature makes it possible to elaborate on a part of the text by writing more sentences within a chosen scenario.
Let us walk you through the process and show you some examples.
We recommend that you read "What are sentences and scenarios" before going on.
Convert a scenario
You convert a scenario to a sentence by clicking on the arrow on the right side of the scenario.
After this, a little box will pop up to make sure that you want to convert the scenario.
When converting a scenario you open a new segment in the template containing a sentence with two scenarios as a standard. The converted scenario will appear with a little arrow.
If you convert a scenario where you have already written text, the text will enter the first scenario.
You can add sentences, scenarios, and breaks to a converted scenario in the same way you usually do. And yes, you can also convert a scenario within a converted scenario. This is called a sub scenario. There is no limit to how many sub scenarios there can be.
We recommend that you only create sub scenarios as long as they make sense to your data. It is easy to get lost in the template if there are too many sub scenarios.
You can keep track of all the elements in the template by looking at the numbers on the left side.
Converted scenarios and conditions
Conditions work in the same way in a converted scenario as in a regular scenario. They tell the software what to write based on the data.
If a converted scenario has conditions the elements and texts within the scenario will only appear if the data matches the conditions.
Let us look at an example.
The sentence shown above has five different scenarios based on categories in the data. All of them have been converted to expand the template and make it possible to write different things in each category.
To make sure the software chooses the right category, and thus writes the correct text, there is a condition based on the specific category. The software will therefore only take all the elements in this scenario if it fits with the category.
If we summarize, this means that the converted scenarios can give the template some structure and make it possible to create passages in the template that only applies to specific products, categories, or other data points.
Want to know how to add conditions to a scenario? Look at "How do I set up simple conditions?".
Get a converted scenario back to a regular scenario
If you find out that it was not necessary to make a converted scenario and want it to get back to a regular scenario, just delete all the sentences within the converted scenario.
If you have already written text in the sentences within the converted scenario then remember to make a copy. Or else it will be deleted.
When deleting all the sentences within the converted scenario it will automatically go back to being a regular scenario. If there are any conditions set to the converted scenario it will remain.
